Image to Text — Free OCR
Pull the words out of photos, scans and screenshots. The OCR engine runs entirely in your browser — the language file downloads once, then your images are read locally and never uploaded. Copy the result or save it as a text file.

Frequently asked questions
Which languages are supported?
English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Simplified/Traditional Chinese. You can combine up to three languages per run.
How do I get the best accuracy?
Use sharp, well-lit images with the text as horizontal as possible. Straighten scans, avoid heavy shadows, and prefer images where text is at least 20 pixels tall.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The OCR engine (Tesseract via WebAssembly) runs inside your browser tab — the image is processed on your device and never sent anywhere. The first run downloads the language file once (a few MB), cached by your browser afterwards.
